StarterGuide
Guide for Ruins To Fortress
This guide serves as an introduction to help you survive and thrive in the game world.
Finding the Right Starting Position
Pick a spot with lots of resources but few players. Having water nearby means you can use boats to escape trouble and gather materials faster. Think of it like choosing a good camping spot - you want resources nearby but not too many neighbors. NPCs won't attack you if you're unarmed, so take advantage of this while gathering initial supplies.
Starting Equipment
First priority is getting basic tools. Start with a Wooden Club (10 wood) - think of it as your Swiss Army knife for basic tasks. Next, gather materials for an Axe and Pick Axe (each needs 50 wood + 50 stone). The Axe chops trees faster than your club, while the Pick Axe is best for mining stone and metal. A Torch Light (5 metal fragments) helps you see at night - essential since night time lasts 5 real hours in-game.
Base Building
Your first major build should be the Workbench 1 (250 wood + 250 stone). It's like your home's foundation - without it, your base will decay. Add a Large Wood Box (200 wood) for storage, a Bed (200 wood) to respawn if you die, and a Campfire (100 wood) for cooking and light. Don't forget the Hammer (50 wood) - it's your repair and upgrade tool, like a handyman's best friend.
For better cooking and metal processing, save up for an Oven (250 wood + 250 stone + 50 metal fragments) and Smelter (750 wood + 750 stone + 200 metal fragments). Think of these as your kitchen upgrade path.
Survival Guide
Staying alive needs three things: protection, weapons, and food.
Protection starts with Bush clothing - the Shirt and Pants (50 wood each) give you 5 armor points per piece. It's like wearing padded clothing - not great, but better than nothing.
For weapons, craft a Bow (200 wood) and Arrows (10 wood + 10 stone each). Think of it as your starter ranged weapon - silent and effective for both hunting and defense.
Food options progress from basic to advanced:
- Raw Meat is your basic food (+2 health, +30 hunger) - like eating sushi
- Grilled Meat is better (+15 health, +200 hunger) - like a proper cooked steak
- Bread needs wheat but is worth it (+20 health, +400 hunger) - filling and healthy
Getting Better Gear
Workbenches are your tech progression:
- Workbench 1: Your starter (250 wood + 250 stone)
- Workbench 2: Mid-game (500 wood + 500 stone + 250 Satoshi) - unlocks better weapons
- Workbench 3: End-game (1000 wood + 1000 stone + 250 metal fragments + 500 Satoshi) - access to best gear
Like levels in a game, each tier unlocks better items and building options. Metal fragments come from smelting metal ore, and Satoshis can be found or earned at vending machines.
Endgame Content
The ultimate goal is building a nuke. You'll need:
- Nuke Frame (Blueprint + 500 metal fragments)
- Several crucial components (Case, Reflector, Trigger, Timer, Core)
Think of it like assembling a complex puzzle - each piece must be found or crafted carefully.
